delve into cartography of the human body, environmental landscape and
alternative dimensions by way of textiles.
In general my work addresses issues of dimension, feeling and physicality by
way of textiles. “Physicality” serves as the primary axis around which the work revolves. Issues
range from topics of gender and vulnerability, to our treatment of our physical
and emotional “selves”, to our own relationships within our environments.Fabric is the chosen medium for it’s inherent tactile
allure. By combining varied textiles with shapes and voids we are tempted to
touch, pull and prod, it is hoped that the viewer’s curiosity is awakened and
their own “selves” examined.
